2Lepta is the smallest unit of Greek copper currency. Our name was inspired by the Biblical story of a widow who gave her last two mitesーher entire livelihoodーas an offering to God.

We started 2Lepta with the mindset: "We may not have great talents, but let's offer everything we have to God." I chose this name so that I can be reminded of that devotion every single day.

(I wonder if people in Greece recognize the meaning when they see "2LEPTA"...?)

“As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”
